EXPERIENCE

 

LSINC/Insider Threat Analyst                                           Fort Belvoir, VA. 12/2018 to Present

 

·      Responsible for initial triage of potential insider threat incidents, to include workplace violence and harm to self.

·      Review and evaluate security clearance applications evaluating risk and making recommendations regarding the issuance of interim security clearances.

·      Provides guidance to ensure agency compliance with the requirements of the Executive Order Executive Order 13587 and the Presidential Memorandum, “National Insider Threat Policy (INT) and Minimum Standards for Executive Branch Insider Threat Programs.”

·      Uses the DITMAC System of Systems (DSoS) for data integration and hosting architecture, reporting workflows for Component submissions, advanced analytics, and reporting.

·      Gather, integrate, review, analyze, and respond to information derived from Counter Intelligence (CI), Security, Intelligence Community (IC), Human Resources (HR), Law Enforcement (LE), User Active Monitoring (UAM), and other information sources to identify potential insider threat concerns while conducting daily analysis to detect behavioral changes indicative of potential insider threats.

·      Develop and maintain an annex of insider threat triggers and behavioral indicators to facilitate timely analysis of data feeds. Submit recommended insider threat triggers and behavioral indicators for follow up and further processing.

·      Analyze threat intelligence (e.g. actors, tools, exploits, etc.) and determine techniques, tactics, and procedures (TTPs) of Threat Actors, including detailed technical analysis of the TTPs

·      Contribute to insider threat processes by identifying and developing insider threat leads for possible referral to investigators; conduct background IT records reviews to identify past behaviors relevant to the issue under review; provide comprehensive written reports to investigators, supervisors, human resources specialists, personnel security specialists, etc

·      Analyze and provide recommendations for the integration and synchronization of insider threat functions by reviewing and providing analysis and recommendations to establish and maintain centralized monitoring, tracking and the resolution of potential threats.

·      Proficient user of Splunk, User Behavior Analytics (UBA) used to enhance detection footprints by using a behavior-centric, purpose-build configurable machine learning framework that leverages unsupervised algorithms and stiches hundreds of anomalies used for Insider Threat detection monitoring.
