8th GRADE SCIENCE TEACHER
Taught the Achievement First 8th grade science curriculum to all 8th grade students (~80) at Achievement First Crown Heights Middle School. In first year, was responsible for creating daily lesson plans using the AF network unit guide and resources. Internalized and taught lesson plans, graded student work, tracked student performance data, planned reteach lessons, and communicated with families. Participated in weekly professional development meetings and instructional coaching meetings with the Dean of Science. In August 2017 began co-teaching one section of seventh grade science in addition to 8th grade teaching duties and started a STEM club. Students consistently placed second or third in network-wide performance ranking on interim assessments in my first and second years of teaching. Students achieved double digit year over year growth between my first and second year of teaching. In my third year, students showed high growth on the Science MAP growth assessment between the beginning and end of the school year.
